In this ESSENTRICS® workshop with Liz Olson, you will move to the next level of your Essentrics journey. This workshop is designed for those students who have taken Liz's workshop before and who are looking to progress and focus on strength and flexibility. You will discover how to reverse functional aging by choosing to develop and maintain strong, healthy muscles. The movement in Essentrics is unique from other exercise programs because it involves every muscle and every joint. The result is maximum full body mobility, flexibility and strength….no matter your age.
Each week a new topic will be discussed regarding the benefits of Essentrics. In this Level 2 workshop, Liz introduces more challenging techniques and exercises that focus on strength, stretching and toning. Students will be required to stand and go to the ground to do most of the exercises. Modifications will be provided as needed. Liz has been teaching Essentrics for over 15 years in the Edmonton area. This workshop with Liz is very popular so reserve your spot early.
The actual exercise portion of the class (which follows the weekly discussion) is approximately 45 minutes long. Special emphasis is with ensuring proper technique and providing exercise modifications. Registration Now Open for Apr/Jun.

In an Essentrics® for Pain Relief workshop you will discover how “No Pain All Gain” is the revolutionary approach to alleviating and eliminating chronic pain.
Essentrics® for Pain Relief uses all the techniques unique to Essentrics® in a slow and gentle approach. In this workshop you will learn to listen to your body and relieve chronic arthritic pain thru gentle, easy stretching movements. The following topics will be covered : prevention and slowing the progression of arthritis relieving the pain using gentle movement coping with good and bad days balancing musculature and freeing up joints unglue tight connective tissue focus on proper alignment/posture The workshop will include discussions of topics above, technique sections where students will practice moves and receive coaching on form and will end with a Essentrics Class (45 min). STUDIO Health and Wellness Protocols
eOne Fitness is committed to keeping our Studio a safe environment for our members and instructors. We are committed to following AHS guidelines as well as using benchmark practices from other Fitness Studios. With all our Fitness programs, we ask our clients to complete our online waiver and discuss with us any relevant medical or physical conditions that could require modifications. If you are new to fitness or have any underlying medical issues that would make participation in a fitness class unsafe, please consult a physician prior to starting any physically active program, including ESSENTRICS.
We will continue to offer Live Virtual classes as well, and encourage our members to continue to enjoy these classes, as they are an great alternative to our Live Studio classes.
We are asking all visitors to review the following guidelines and stay home if you are feeling sick:
1. Maintaining safe social distancing while exercising - 2 M between students. 2. Cleaning protocols include a new air purification system and regular cleaning of surfaces and steaming of floors. 3. Students must bring their own yoga mats and water bottles.
What is Essentrics?
For starters, it’s not “Eccentrics”, although when people hear us say the phrase “No Pain, All Gain” they might think we are a little strange at first! It’s ESSENTRICS®, with the double S, and it’s an amazing, full body stretch program suitable for women and men of all ages, body types and fitness levels, created by Canadian fitness expert Miranda Esmonde-White.
Essentrics® is a dynamic full body workout! That means that in every Essentrics® class we target ALL the muscles in the body, starting with the tiniest muscles in our feet to the major muscles in our legs and arms. Why is this necessary? As we age, if we don’t target and activate all our muscles – we lose the cells within our muscles. These cells are the guardians of our youth. They contain our energy-producing mitochondria and the lose of those cells result in the signs of aging: loss of energy, weight gain, pain, stiffness, fatigue and loss of skin elasticity.
What is unique about our program is that its purpose is to eccentrically move the entire body (all 650 muscles and 360 joints). This means we are simultaneously strengthening and stretching our muscles through a combination of dynamic movements. The results leave you feeling taller, leaner, toned, and flexible. There is no equipment required. We workout barefoot and listen to an amazing playlist that is specifically curated to the movements. This is a FEEL GOOD Workout!
Aside from the benefits of improved posture, mobility, and range of motion, this workout is safe and effective for pain relief, injury prevention and rehabilitation. The Essentrics® Technique has been influenced by the strengthening theories behind ballet, the flowing movements of tai chi and the healing principals of physiotherapy. Essentrics is functional fitness for everyone that provides full body maintenance for our entire lives. It provides our body with the everyday movements it was designed to do and what our bodies need to stay mobile, strong, flexibly and healthy.
Adding Essentrics® to your weekly routine will also rebalance your body, protect you from injury and improve your overall form. This is critical as it addresses the imbalances caused by other daily activities and fitness programs. For instance, do you sit at a desk all day, do heavy lifting, or stand on your feet for hours at a time? All of these can have repercussions on your physical wellbeing. What about your fitness programs? Do you run, bike, play sports, do yoga or Pilates? While most of these programs provide amazing benefits to your health, they can also create imbalances in the body that need to be addressed, including past injuries and scar tissue that can build up and limit our mobility.
